Campaigns to fight locally and
grow our grassroots support

1. Save the River Test
The River Test is the heart of our community, yet water companies have been allowed to dump sewage into our rivers and destroy our natural environment. Having had the privilege of being raised by the River Test, I care deeply that my son and future generations will be able to enjoy it as well.

  • I will campaign to end sewage dumping into our rivers and demand a new Clean Water Authority to hold water companies to account.

  • I will fight to have representatives of local environmental groups on the board of Southern Water.

  • As a local resident who knows just how much the Test means to our community, I will lead a campaign that is both about protecting our environment and about building grassroots trust in the Lib Dems.

2. Tackle Crime and Keep Communities Safe
Romsey and Southampton North does not have a single police station with a public desk open — that has to change. Residents in both rural villages and towns deserve visible policing and real action against crime.

  • I will lead the fight to re-open Romsey Police Station to the public, showing people that the Lib Dems are serious about law and order.

  • I will campaign to tackle rural crime, which is a growing issue across Test Valley villages.

  • As a lawyer by training, I know how important strong enforcement is — and I will be a tough, practical voice on crime locally.

3. Improved Local Services
After years of inadequate spending on local services, many in Romsey and Southampton North are struggling to see a GP or book a dentist appointment. The Conservatives have done little to fight for more funding for public services even though it is needed now more than ever with the increase in housing targets.

  • I will campaign for more GPs and dentists, so families can get appointments when they need them.

  • I will fight for fair funding for public services, after years of neglect.

  • I will push to ensure new housing is matched by new services — schools, transport, and healthcare that keep pace with growth.

MY LOCAL PLAN

1. A Stronger NHS for Everyone
Earlier this year, I had a difficult birth with my son — and I saw first-hand how overstretched our NHS has become. From maternity to GPs, mental health to social care, too many people are waiting too long or going without the treatment they need.

  • I will fight for more resources for frontline NHS services, so that everyone gets the care and dignity they deserve when they need it most.

  • I will be a strong advocate in Parliament for patients, especially mothers, and staff alike, ensuring healthcare is properly funded and prioritised.

2. Electoral Reform to Give Young People a Voice
We live in a multi-party country, but Westminster still clings to a broken two-party system. That shuts out the voices of young people and undermines trust in politics.

  • I will fight for proportional representation, so that every vote counts and young people’s views are represented fairly.

  • Having founded DemocraFest to re-engage young voters, I know how to reach those who feel ignored — and I will keep building that movement as an MP.

3. Closer Ties with Europe
Before entering politics full-time, I worked as a lawyer in London and Madrid, studied languages, and lived in four different countries. I speak three languages, and I know first-hand the opportunities that closer ties with Europe bring.

  • I will argue for closer economic ties with Europe, bringing down trade barriers to boost growth and opportunities for British businesses.

  • I will push for better returns deals on illegal immigration, which can only be achieved through stronger cooperation with our European neighbours.

4. Tackling Climate Change
Growing up by the River Test has shown me first hand the threats from climate change and not protecting our environment. Climate change is the defining challenge of our generation — but it’s also an opportunity to build a cleaner, fairer economy.

  • I will campaign to hold water companies to account for sewage dumping, protect the River Test, and invest in renewable energy and green jobs.

  • I will push to make sure the constituency has the resources it needs to transition to a greener future including investment in renewable energy, public transport, home insulation and protecting our rivers and the natural environment.
